Obtained the university-entrance diploma, studied business economics and then trained as a waiter and cook. About five years’ experience working abroad at the Belvédère in Davos, the Ritz in Madrid, the Negresco in Nice, the Parkhotel in Düsseldorf, and the Plaza Athénée in New York. Completed postgraduate studies at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration in Ithaca, New York.

Headed Steigenberger’s division for project acquisition and conception for three years, analysing some 200 projects and properties throughout Europe including feasibility studies, planning, planning supervision, calculation, negotiation, and financial structuring.

Participated in HOTOUR Unternehmensberatung für Hotellerie und Tourismus in Frankfurt am Mai as a managing director and shareholder for six years, analysing 100 hotel developments for potential sources of trouble and preparing valuations for various hotels and companies.

Founded G.O.P. GmbH & Co. KG in 2002, building an independent consultancy company specialising in developing, leasing and selling hotels. Was G.O.P.’s sole managing director until its integration into Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels as per January 2006.

In 2006 and 2007, was employed as National Director at Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels Germany, heading the German investment and consultancy team responsible for hotel transactions and hotel consultancy in Germany and German-speaking countries.

On 1 July 2007 reopened G.O.P. GmbH & Co. KG, an independent company focusing on advising clients on hotel transactions and hotel developments in Germany and throughout Europe.

Authored numerous articles on topics including hotel finance, finance agreements, conversion of office space into hotels and boarding houses, hotel success factors, reorganisation of hotel businesses.

Degrees in geography and in business and administration
Studied business and administration as well as geography including legal studies and city sociology. Started out at HOTOUR Unternehmenberatung für Hotellerie und Tourismus first as a project assistant and later as a project manager. Worked for that company as a hotel consultant focusing on market and site analyses, feasibility studies and profitability calculations for hotel projects in and outside Germany for a total of four years.

Joined G.O.P. GmbH & Co. KG in 2002, heading the research business of that company. Received Prokura (general signing powers), which she may exert alone, beginning as of January 2004. Conducted studies for hotel projects and portfolio properties in Germany and throughout Europe, focusing her consultancy practice on market and site analyses, hotel appraisals, feasibility studies, hotel planning and the related plausibility studies, commenting on management agreements concerning hotel businesses, attending to hotel marketing processes and finding management companies for new hotel projects.

In 2006 and 2007, Vice President valuation and advisory business at Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels in Frankfurt am Main, advising on and attending to projects in Germany and neighbouring countries, conducting site, market and property analyses and finding hotel management partners.

In August 2007, joined reopened G.O.P. in her previous function as Prokurist, advising clients on hotel developments in Germany and throughout Europe.

Occupational experience analysing and valuating hotels and hotel portfolios, including technical assistance in Accor Group’s takeover of Sweden’s Good Morning hotel chain, strategic advice in the context of a Swiss tour operator’s due diligence concerning a hotel portfolio, technical analysis of 90 hotel businesses from among the Dorint portfolio in connection with the Group’s split-up, and assessment of non-performing and sub-performing loan portfolios.

Market and property analyses and feasibility studies and valuations concerning lease and management agreements for international hotels in Prague, Zurich, Budapest, Vienna, Brno, Nice, Amsterdam, Italy and on the Canaries as well as for numerous hotels in large and medium-sized German cities.

Traditional career (kitchen, service, reception, administration) in Germany, Switzerland and France with the diploma of the Swiss Special Hotel School in Lucerne followed by 22 years as project leader at Steigenberger Consulting in Frankfurt. This was followed by the post of Administrative Director of 4 holiday villages and 5 appartment blocks in Austria. After this, 3 years as project leader with Dr. Gugg & Dr. Hank-Haase in Frankfurt.
